Derek Fermin writes fast-paced legal thrillers about what happens when ordinary people collide with systems designed to protect themselves. His stories blend courtroom pressure, conspiracies, whistleblowers, and emotional fallout into interconnected legal-thriller worlds.
His David Mercer series launched with Inheritance of Lies and expanded further with Shadow Network. Additional standalone projects including The Juror’s Lie, The Liberty Docket, The Pro Bono Client, and Settlement Conference continue building the larger Derek Fermin catalog.
Drawing inspiration from real legal environments, true crime, and modern institutional distrust, Derek focuses on stories where the justice system itself becomes part of the threat.
